Journal 4

This week's module had a ton of information. Some seemed new to me but other information for this module I have heard before. What I found most interesting is the nonverbal communication signals of   eyes which determine eye behavior. I kind of assumed some of this eye behaviors would determine how someones mood is but I didn't think it would be accurate or true.

I found it also interesting to read about the mind canvas from the powerpoint. What I like most about this section in the powerpoint is the quote " When it comes to emotions, our faces are the mind's canvas." I find this quote most inspirational in a way and very true to how people really reaction and show there emotions.

This week I went to Reno, NV for work and was able to observe several things when interacting with people on a day to day basis. I mostly found there was more observations and interactions in the convenience stores where I interacted with people the most and was able to detect and observe other peoples emotions and cultural and social norms. I even was able to observe these findings when in the elevator of my hotel I stayed at this past weekend.

  1. Elevators can be a fun place to observe NVC and even verbal at times.

  2. I too found that the communication signals of the eyes were interesting. I usually can tell when someone is lying about something they've told me through their eyes and their eye contact with me.
