I fake it every day.
My life is hard no matter how I try to tell myself it isn't. I don't want to give myself permission to live that way, but it's hard to ignore when my husband sleeps three days in a row and has six doctor's appointments a month.
When the TED speaker asked you to look at how you were sitting I had my hands covering my mouth and nose and my legs tucked under me. I wasn't as small as I've made myself in the past, but small still the same.
I had someone point out this week how I do things that nobody else does. Hearing this comment I noticed my shoulders straighten out and my breaths becoming deeper. I physically felt a change in me.
I tell myself and the kids the same words that the speaker says, "You belong here, you have what it takes." I didn't know to put actions with it.
And just doing the two minute pose of power made me feel like I did with that compliment.
To put this into my everyday life, I'm going to do power poses everyday in the morning when I make our oatmeal.
Excellent! I find that Power Poses really help me on those days I need an extra boost. Let us know how it works for you!
