As my observation, I went to the Cedar City's Rue 21 and people watched as they shopped for clothes and made purchases. The one thing I was attempting to keep my eye open for was facial expressions and I noticed that people would look at clothes and use their lips and cheeks to give away when they weren't sure if they liked a certain piece of clothing. A woman in her late 20's would walk slowly from rack to rack and she would pull a shirt and tilt her neck to admire it but her lips would curl then she would put it back. However when she liked something, her eyebrows would raise. Another young couple around the ages of 16 who only spoke Spanish were shopping in the men's section and when he found something nice he would almost make like a frown as if to say "this ain't that bad" but when he would hold it up to show his, what I assume was his girlfriend, she would tilt her head to the side and squint. If she hated it she would squint/close her left eye and shake her head. If she liked it she would slightly smile and raise her head. He only got two shirts out of the like 8 or 9 he held up to show her. All around I noticed people would, what seemed, to picture themselves in the clothing, but if they didn't like it after a few seconds would put the items back. Very interesting watching these people.
