This week I did my observation at the swimming pool. There were quite a few small families there, along with some couples and a few girls just hanging out with their friends. It was interesting to watch the dynamic between all of these people. One family in general was very concerned about their children. Their kids kept swimming away, so you could see the frustration in their face as they kept yelling after their kids to come back. The couples were very cuddly in the pool and were very affectionate with each other. They had a lot of eye contact and were very touchy with each other.
I also really enjoyed watching the people who were there with groups of friends. Many of them would watch other people walking into the pool and would look them up and down before turning to their friends to make comments and giggle. It was easy to tell that they were talking about the people coming in and were making little comments about them. I think it interesting that three out of the four groups of girls that were there were doing this.
I think that is the most funniest thing when you catch other people people watching (observing) and they don't see that other people are watching them people watch. Its also sad that the younger generations are still giggling and making, most likely, judgmental comments. Sounds like the people at the pool were having fun otherwise.
