Journal # 3

This weeks module mainly focused on the power of touch or haptics. When I was doing the readings and went through the power point I noticed several examples of the power of touching to convey or show someone emotion. Some meaning of touch toward a person could be love, sympathy, a friendly gesture, concern, or just showing someone you care or you are thinking of them.

Mainly when thinking of this topic, I was thinking more about relationships, as in couples, of how each person shows emotion to each other in a relationship. When going through the power point and book, I noticed different ways in nonverbal communication toward others such as torso communication and nonverbal movement of the arms which both shows emotion just by the way someone's arms or torso is positioned. I could relate this more to in a professional work setting or a teacher teaching a class.
