I found this weeks module very interesting to read along with the last two chapters in the book. THe subjects I found most interesting to read in the book and in the PowerPoint was about how to spot a liar and how to detect deception. I also found it interesting to read in the book about Navarro's 12 strategies about pacifiers and discomforts. Tonight I went to the Green Valley Casino Buffet and observed several people in the buffet including servers and others that were dining at the buffet. Throughout the time spent at the buffet I was able to hear and notice or observe the atmosphere of other diners at the buffet as well as how conversations were going at the other tables at the buffet.
I normally don't eat out at a restruant, let alone a sit down restruant that often and I can say it was a pleasant expierence that my mom and I had. I think throughout the PowerPoint my favorite quote in this module was:
"You must have a realistic goal about detecting deception. “…to be able to read nonverbal behaviors with clarity and reliability, and let the human body speak to you as to what it is thinking, feeling, or intending.”.
I found this quote very inspirational and overall very true of life to this subject matter. Lastly, I would like to say that I really enjoyed this class. I found it very helpful and interesting to read especially in my career field that I want to get into when I graduate!
I agree with your journal entry and I, too, find that quote to me very inspirational.
