What actually stood out the most to me this week came from the research assignment and paper due. I read an essay about nonverbal communication and how it can give us information about the roles of demographic groups in society and there power and prestige.

The article was focused mainly on the subordination of women, but in one section in focused on a specific element of nonverbal communication: privacy. It related privacy to power or prestige. Begin blocked off, or having the ability to refrain from divulging, is associated with power. I've just been thinking about and noticing things like that all week. We associate the all black car with dark dint with money. Mansions have big walls. The boss has his own office space.

It's really interesting and I seem to notice it everywhere I look now. Pretty freaking neat.
