Observation # 5

I found this weeks module and section of the book to be difficult to relate to the observations I made in the Green Valley Casino Buffet I went to eat at tonight. Although when I went to the buffet, I observed several things at the buffet. When entering the buffet, I noticed all the cashier, hostess, and server were friendly and personable. They all smiled and said, "Welcome!". Our hostess that seated us to our table was polite and asked how our day was going. Our server was smiling when she approached us as if she was happy to help us. As I was waiting to look around at the buffet I noticed there was a large family with about six people sitting at two of the tables nearby. They were laughing and smiling when making conversation as if they were enjoying themselves and having a good time.

As I started looking around there were two men sitting behind me, I could hear there conversations. One of the men were on a cellphone, it sounded as if they were talking to there girlfriend on the phone. He said that he will be home later tonight after he was done eating with his friend and ended the conversation with "babe".  I also noticed later on in the meal our server asked, "How are you doing?" . She also asked me, " How is your food?" . Each time she came by she was polite and friendly with a smile on her face. I noticed as well when waiting in line for food most people kept a respectable distance and had a good amount of personal space.

Later on at the buffet the two men were talking about the food and I heard them questioning whether the sushi was good or not. When I looked over at there table I noticed the two men were enjoying themselves but seemed in a hurry to leave quickly. Lastly, I saw an old lady with a can who sat down at one of the tables by herself. She looked sad and lonely. Her facial expression indicated she was just wanting to have a nice dinner but she seemed as if she wasn't as happy becasue she was alone. I noticed she kept more to herself throughout the whole meal and didn't seem as happy to be there by herself.
