Observation #1

I have always found an interest in watching people and how they go about doing things. I love to people watch, as creepy as it sounds, so this assignment was fun for me. I decided to go to Costco in Lehi, Utah. I walked around the store for a while and notice that most shoppers who were looking at clothing, would use there lips or their eyes when deciding whether or not that particular clothing was going to be a good buy or not.
The shoppers, in the grocery section, who took advantage of all the samples that were available, used mostly facial expressions. You could tell if they liked the sample or not. Most expressions showed the shoppers liked the sample but I'd catch a few facial expressions that showed disgust.
Obviously, the workers at Costco would be using a lot of hand gestures as they talked to customers or explained information about the certain product they were questioned about. The shoppers at the food court with their families also showed a lot of facial expression and hand gestures. For example, a couple who was having lunch together, smiled at those walking by as if nothing was wrong but as soon as they seemed to be alone, you could tell she was irritated by her eyes and her hand gestures. As, I sat there I saw her pointing and rolling her eyes at her boyfriend or husband. I was also able to see a father who had taken his sons out to eat and you could tell by their eyes and their mouths that they were all enjoying their time together and the pizza they were eating.
